Planning to do the bulk of your holiday shopping online is an excellent way to save money. It's also an excellent way to eliminate much of the stress of the holidays. When you can shop from the quiet and comfort of your home you are less likely to make rash, impulsive purchasing decisions, and you are also less likely to have to drive around to various stores since you can easily find out exactly which items are in stock when you visit the website. Stores like JCPenney, ToysRUs, PCWorld along with other major retailers offer excellent deals for Cyber Monday, so when you are planning your Monday after Thanksgiving be sure to set aside a couple of hours to shop!

Benefits: One of the best ways to stay on budget is to avoid wandering into a store—or to a website—and just searching through merchandise. Instead, make a budget for each person on your list and be sure to stick to it. It helps, if you have any spare time in the days before Cyber Monday, to visit some websites that you think you would be interested in shopping at, and taking a look at the options they have. Putting stuff on a wish list or in your cart can ensure that those items are there ahead of time, so on Cyber Monday, you have only to log into your cart and check to see what Cyber Monday savings could be applied to what you want to buy. This can help decrease your total shopping costs by a great deal and is an excellent, excellent thing to consider when you are planning your holiday shopping.

Plan: A lot of people already know that one of the keys to saving money is to never spend more than you planned. If you set a budget and stick to it, you will find that you save yourself a lot of the stress, strain and worry. The holidays always become an unexpectedly expensive time for people and the best way to keep this from getting in the way of your fun and enjoyment is to save wherever you can. A lot of people find that Black Friday is too stressful of a situation for them to endure.

Many times the crowds, the stampeding, the rushing around and the gridlocked traffic force people to sidestep Black Friday despite all of the savings they’re able to enjoy. For these people, Cyber Monday is absolutely perfect. You can enjoy all of the savings that you would enjoy on Black Friday in a brick and mortar store, without the stress of shopping outside. You can even set an alarm, wake up extra early, do all of your Christmas, New Year's or Hanukkah shopping online before items are sold out and then take a nap, secure and happy in the knowledge that you have completed every bit of your holiday shopping.

For a lot of people, Cyber Monday seems to be the best way to save money and still enjoy all of the fun and magic of the holiday season, without the stress and strain. People interested in scoring some of the best deals online should do a little bit of research before Cyber Monday to make sure that their favorite online stores are planning to offer big savings.

A Family Adventure to the Moon

I remember the first time I saw the moon in a telescope. It was a calm, dark night and I wanted to show my kids how to use a simple little telescope I purchased from Toys R’ Us (of all places). I had no idea if we would even be able to see anything through it because I really didn’t take the small apparatus very seriously. It was a toy after all. But after a little creative maneuvering, I finally located the satellite and was floored. I found it. I actually found the moon and I could see it with a clarity I never expected from a child’s plaything.

I mean, it’s one thing to see the moon in books and magazines, but it’s an entirely different thing to *experience* the moon in reality. The visual was simply astounding. I could see everything… the dark patches, the scratched surfaces, the craters. It looked just like the photographs I viewed in the past – only clearer, calmer, and perhaps even bigger for some reason. It was simply awesome. My children shared the same experience and for once, we felt validated in what we were taught in science.

Yet as wonderful as that experience was, I couldn’t help but wonder what else I would see and feel had I viewed the moon with a higher quality telescope. The thought was terrifyingly exciting. I wondered just how much more of the moon I would see. Would I be able to see a little bit inside the craters? Would I see surrounding stars? Would I find Richard C. Hoagland’s lost alien civilization? (Hey, we can all dream, can’t we?)

I can’t recommend introducing the telescope into your family enough. For a brief moment in time, the telescope lets an entire family share a phenomenon that’s bigger than life. Whether you’re viewing the moon, Mars, Venus, or Saturn, there’s nothing like seeing these celestial objects in person.

6 Simple Steps to Find A Coupon

This guest post was provided by Liz Cutten. She specializes in finding the best promo codes online on her site MyCCFinder.com.

I love saving money online, and honestly, I can’t remember the last time that I set out and purchased something for full price. The Internet is a great place to find everything from sales items, to coupons, and I wanted to share with you the six steps that I use to find great coupons online.

#1 Start with Social Media: You will be surprised at how many companies have coupons, as well as offers right on their Facebook, as well as Twitter page. What you will want to do is go to these pages, and see what kind of deal that you can get. 99% of the time, you will have to “like” the page to get the deal.

#2 Search online: A great way to find fresh coupon codes, as well as printable codes is to simply search for them. Instead of doing a search on Google, you will want to search via the “most recent” results. When you search in the most recent results, you will find coupons that were just posted.

#3 Buy your coupons: Buy the coupons, you’re asking? Yes, I know it sounds silly, but you will find that you can get some great coupons on places like eBay. The cool thing about this is that you can get coupons for pennies that will save you a lot more than that.

#4 Sign up for newsletters: Just like Facebook, you can join the newsletters for most brands, and restaurants. You will find that a lot of them will give you a coupon, as well as freebie just for signing up. Not only that, you’re going to get coupons for the future as well.

#5 Participate in forums: Savings forums such as SlickDeals, and Fatwallet are a great place to scour on a daily basis. Not only can you find some great offers, and deals, you can also find some great coupons. You can also search for coupons here as well that you may not find elsewhere.

#6 Get the Sunday paper: I highly recommend that everyone subscribes to the Sunday paper. You’re going to find that the publications there have great coupons for not only your groceries, but restaurants and more. You don’t need to subscribe, but you can pick up in your local grocery store, and more.

These six steps should easily allow you to find some great coupons. Follow some of the tips above, and you should be able to save a decent amount of money on your next purchase.

Cool Winter Wedding Favors to Warm Their Hearts

For me, it’s all about the snow. Yes, I know there are many parts of the country that get little or no snow during the winter. I live in a place that rarely sees more than a day or two of snow (no blizzards, no sleigh-ready accumulation) in any given year, which probably explains why I love snow so much. It makes everything look beautiful (until people start driving on it.)

It also explains why the wonderful winter wedding favors I’m about to show you all center on snow. I had a winter wedding without snow, so wedding favors were a terrific way to incorporate the most symbolic icon of the season into the festivities. Here are my five favorites:

Snowflake Bottle Stopper—I like this one because, as you can see from the photo, it’s a heartwarming winter favor that’s specifically made for a product that warms everything else in a person. So I’m thinking it’s pretty likely every guest will find a use for it at home. When you visit them next winter, you can feel confident they’ll have a little something to warm you up, too!

Snowflake Bookmark—A practical gift that reminds me of one of the great joys of wintertime—curling up in a comfy chair with the latest best seller next to a roaring fire, a cup of hot chocolate on the table beside you and snow falling silently out your window. The bookmark, accented with an elegant ice-blue tassel, also shows your guests you give them credit for expanding their horizons by reading.

Snowflake Favor Box—You simply can’t go wrong giving your guests more food, especially sweets. Fill these snowflake-shaped favor boxes with M&Ms, jelly beans, Jordan almonds, cinnamon hearts or whatever. Most of the favor boxes won’t make it to the car after your wedding. The goodies will be eaten sometime before the end of the event. That’s why dancing is so popular at weddings—so people can work off some of the sweets they’ve eaten.

Snowflake CoastersWell, you have to have someplace to put down your drink when you visit the home of one of your wedding guests later on in the winter, right? This is a good time to talk about mixing and matching your wedding favors. Bottle stoppers and coasters go together well, so you can alternate favors at the table settings. Both of these will sprinkle “snow” on the tabletops, adding an element of seasonal décor.

“Snow Flurry” Ornament Place Card/Photo HolderSnowflakes outside, snowflakes inside and a holiday decoration all around! This clear-glass cutie can be used as a place card holder, a photo holder and an ornament to hang on the tree at home. If your wedding is before Christmas or on Christmas eve itself, you might choose to have a decorated, beautifully lit tree as part of your reception décor. Fill the tree with enough of these winter favor ornaments to have one for each guest and invite them all to grab one to take home at the end of your event.

A brrrrrrrrrilliant idea, don’t you think!

New thematic Charm Bracelets

Choosing charms for a charm bracelet can be quite fun, especially if the recipient has interests or hobbies that can be reflected in the charm choices. With all of the different materials from which to choose, you can help your loved one put together a unique and beautiful bracelet that will mean something only to her.

Themed charm bracelets are quite popular, because it is easy to pick out a range of charms that fit together to tell one particular story. Music lovers may have a charm bracelet full of music themed charms, such as music notes, a piano, a treble clef, or a charm that represents a favorite song. Readers and writers may enjoy seeking out literary charms, such as a character from a novel, a tiny book, or an enameled pen.

Sports lovers will find all sorts of charms to add to their bracelets. With all of the different sports to choose from, you can find jersey numbers, a football, pompoms, a baseball or softball bat, mascots, and megaphones. Mixing and matching for various sports can add even more color and interest to your bracelet.

Many people like to collect charms while on journeys. Travel themed charm bracelets can be the perfect way to remember all of the many trips that you have taken. A palm tree might remind you of your paradise vacation, while a kangaroo could bring back memories of your trip Down Under. By taking special care to choose the trinkets that will call to mind the best of your vacation memories, your charm bracelet could be better than any scrapbook.

Of course, many women cherish nothing above their families. Your charm bracelet could be the very best way to show off your children and grandchildren with pride. Birthstones for new babies are a popular choice, while charms that detail your children's interests are perfect additions as they get older.

Whatever your theme of choice, you will be able to find any charm that you desire. Charms are created from various different materials, so you can often find trinkets that fit right in your budget. With big name jewelers getting in on the charm bracelet fun, you can also find whimsical and meaningful charms that are crafted from precious metals and valuable gemstones. The price of the bracelet isn't important at all, as you will soon discover. The memories that the charm bracelet provides, however, are priceless.

Men's Shirts add Variety to Your Look With Them

While women's fashion is fickle and changes year in year out, men's fashion, on the other hand, varies little according to fashion designer Nida Mahmood writing in the Indian Financial Chronicle. Men's fashion tends to turn around the basic components of a men's wardrobe: a shirt, jacket and trousers. What then can you do to add some variety to your look if you are stuck with the same type of outfit?

Attention to detail
Smaller details can be changed, such as the colour, the pattern and the cut of a shirt - a cutback collar this year or no breast pocket the next. Jackets can have a military cut to them or two, three or four buttons on the cuffs. These small changes can help keep a man's outfit and look fresh throughout the seasons.

Another way to prevent yourself from looking stale in the same shirt and suit combination day in day out is to mix and match the patterns and colours of your shirt, tie and suit appropriately as we explain here.

Plain shirts
A white shirt lends itself to a very contrasting tie. Go for a bold one that will stand out on the white background.

Alternatively, wear a plain coloured shirt and go for a more discrete coloured tie that yet contrasts the colour of the shirt. You can also try a tie with patterns or shapes on it when wearing a plain shirt.

Patterned shirts
A patterned shirt such as with stripes, herringbones or checks is a great way to add more variety. The combinations of stripe colours and stripe thickness are nearly infinite but stick to more toned-down colours, especially if it is for work. Usually the narrower the stripes, the more discrete the shirt is. When wearing a patterned shirt, stick at all cost to a plain tie.

Beware of patterns though
A patterned tie with a patterned shirt is a big no-no as there will be just too many patterns going on for the eye to take in. You don't want to look like a zebra.

Equally, a striped suit with a striped shirt don't mix well. There are just too many stripes for the eye. Remember - it's either a patterned shirt with a plain suit or a plain shirt with a patterned suit, i.e. with a stripes or checks pattern. If you're wearing a shirt on a date, it's crucial to get these details right.

You should now be able to juggle all your types of men's shirts, suits and ties to keep from wearing the same outfits all the time. That's the good thing about being a man - get a few basic items of menswear and you're all sorted.
